Celebrating the Irish!

Celebrating the Irish!

With Sunday being St. Patrick’s Day, the world is getting pretty excited about all things Irish, Sullivan Entertainment included. Did you know that Wind at My Back has a heavy Irish influence?

The Bailey family is of Irish decent. As such, the show’s name is taken from an Irish saying. At the end of the second part of Four Walls and a Roof, the following occurs:

JOE (affecting an Irish accent) Well, my lads, as me old Dad would say…

HONEY (laughs) Oh yes?

JOE “May the road always rise to meet your feet, and may the wind be forever at your back.”

FAT I’ll drink to that…

The quote Joe recites is just part of an Irish Blessing that goes:

irelandMay the road rise up to meet you. May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

This weekend, let’s celebrate the Irish and their contributions to our great nation. May the wind always be at your back! As part of our celebration, we’re holding a Irish Appreciation Weekend Sale. You’ll find discounts on many items, including 20% off Wind at My Back DVDs.
